Chocolate Chip Cookies [with chickpeas (aka garbanzo beans)]

I found this recipe in Deceptively Delicious by Jessica Seinfeld (Jerry Seinfeld's wife). It looks like a pretty basic chocolate chip cookie recipe, except it called for tub butter and a can of rinsed and drained chickpeas. I thought I was going to cream the beans and add to the batter, but the instructions say to add them after you cream the sugar, butter, egg and vanilla... at the same time you add the chocolate chips, so the way mine turned out, the beans are whole. Friday, August 12 through Saturday, August 13 - Symco Shakedown

Traditional style hot rod show & swap meet. Tour the antique town of Unionville in Symco, including a school, church, feed mill, and many other old-fashioned buldings. Music both days, on three stages-- list of bands here. Show vehicles get in free with paid weekend admission, but check the rules here to be sure you will be allowed into the show. Raffle tickets for 235 Inline Chevy engine available on the grounds. Mini Bike parade around grounds 6pm Friday and Mini Bike Drag Race Saturday approx 11am.
Where: Symco Thresheree Grounds (four miles north of Manawa on Hwy 22)

Saturday, August 13 - Oshkosh Farmer's Market

Through October 22... Every Saturday enjoy fresh produce, bread, meat, cheese, handmade crafts and more. Music by Dr. Kickbutt's Orchestra of Death (I checked out the music online and it's very fun an upbeat, so no judgements based on the name!) Kids events begin at 10am and include a petting zoo!
Where: 400 & 500 Blocks of North Main Street, Oshkosh, WI.

Every Tuesday through August: Ages 2-5 Story time and free play. Ages 6-10 Nature hike and adventure. Caregivers relax in the auditorium-- watch the birds, read a book or use the free Wi-Fi.

Sunday, September 18 - Honey Sunday

Come and help us celebrate the honeybee and the gentle art of beekeeping during this annual event co-sponsored with the Waupaca County Beekeeper's Association. Watch honey being extracted from the hive, beeswax candle dipping, and take in some short informational sessions including What's Inside a Beehive and What a Beekeeper Does. Of course, don't miss out on our delicious honey baked goods and honey sundaes. Bring your family and friends out for some sweet sensations. Pre-registration not necessary.
